Backup Data Files

Top  Previous  Next

The DNE should be backed up as often as you would save any working document on your computer. Backing up the DNE creates a backup of the current state of the database, including all DNE-specific information. This includes all maps and NEs, all tiles (except for the actual files to which the tiles are linked), and all fields for everything. All configurations are also saved, as well as the objects on the bench in every room.

Data can be backed up from the Fusebox in the DNE, but it can also be backed up in Utilities, without opening the DNE.

How to backup data files:

1.Click button - backup data files
2.A dialog box will ask you to type in the name of the backup. By default, the name is the date and time, but you may name the backup anything you want. Type in the name, and
3.Click OK.

i_blue Backups are accessed via the button - restore data files button.

i_blueNote that backups do not replace each other. If you create a backup every day for a week, you will have five backups. Therefore you may want to delete old backups or remove them to storage. Backups are stored in the folder ...\DEKSTRUS\DNE\Backup.

ex_blue The DNE must be closed in order for you to back it up. Ensure that the DNE is closed before you attempt to back up.
