Browse Recorder:
The web recorder has two components, a browse recorder and 9 topic recorders. The browse recorder passively records the address of every page that is opened during a web browsing session, in the order in which the pages were opened. Thus, it provides a history of a particular web browsing session. Each page in this "history" is only a mouseclick away. When you save a browse session, you save a complete, navigable listing of all the web pages visited during the session. When this browse session is saved as a tile, it can be given fields and can be attached to several different NEs. In general it behaves like any other tile, except that it can only be played in the web recorder.
Topic Recorders:
The web recorder also has 10 topic recorders. Where the browse recorder operates passively, simply noting each time a new web page has been opened, the topic recorder operate actively. In each browsing session, you can create anywhere up to 10 topics. A topic can be anything you want to gather information on: each topic is one of the things on which you searching for information. Since you can create new topics on the fly, a topic might also be something on which you weren't searching for information, but on which you found something interesting all the same.
Topic recorder are populated actively, by dragging and dropping web pages from the session recorder onto one or more topic recorder. This copies the web page onto the topic recorder. Whenever you hit a web page that contains information relevant to one of the topics for which you have created a recorder, simply drag that web page from the session recorder onto the appropriate topic recorder.
At the end of the browse session, you have two things.
From this, you can create three kinds of tiles:
Reduced screen web recorder:
In the Internet Manager, you can reduce the size of the DNE on your monitor, allowing you to devote more monitor area to your web browser windows. With the reduced screen recorder, you can add new web pages to existing topic recorders just as with the full machine. You cannot, on the other hand, reconfigure your browse sessions, create new topics or view and navigate your browse session. However, since you can simply toggle between the full room and the reduced screen version, it is easy to return to the full room whenever you have to reconfigure your recorder in any way.
