How to Activate an NE

All NEs are represented by a silver bar NE Bar . Any NE that you can see can be activated.

 

back view drop zonesFrom the cabinet:

1.Open the panel that holds the desired NE, then either:
•Drag the NE Bar onto the NE drop zone in the room in which you want it active. The drop zone will either be on top of the silver bar on the NE that is already in that room (as on the right), or it will be on the NE hanger in that room (as on the left. This is the same location--if there is an NE active in the room, it is hanging on the hanger already). The backview-NE-droppable-activ cursor indicates the drop zone (different cursors on different NE areas indicate different actions performed using different drop zones) Viewed here from the cabinet, there are two available drop zones, the one on the right has an NE in it already, the one on the left doesn't, or

•Rightclick the desired NE Bar,
•Mouseover Activate in Room..., and
•Select the room you want to activate it in.

 

The NE will be active when you move into that room. An active NE is visible from the cabinet.

When there is an NE already active in a room, you must be sure to drop the desired NE onto the silver name bar (drop zone). This is clearly indicated on the cursor - be sure it appears like the one above. If you drop the NE into the affinity area or contribution wings, the NE will not be activated--it will be added to the affinity area or contribution wing of the currently active NE.

From an association area of another NE, or from history:

•Doubleclick on the desired NE Bar, or
•Drag the NE from its location and drop it in the activation area, or
1.Rightclick the NE and
2.Select Activate NE.

The new NE will replace the previously active NE which is sent to history.

 

From the bench or a spill line:

•Drag the NE Bar and drop it in the activation area, or
•Doubleclick the NE (on bench only), or
1.Rightclick the NE, then
2.Select Activate NE.

 

From a parent map  (all NEs above the selected NE in the tree structure) or a tree (all NEs in the tree):

1.Rightclick the NE Bar to be mapped,
2.Select Show NE Map
3.Then, on the map,
•Doubleclick the NE to be activated, or
•Click the NE to be activated, and
•Click OPEN NE.

 

 

From the big picture:

 

1.Rightclick the NE Bar,
2.Mouseover Activate in Room..., and
3.Select the room you want to activate it in.
