Whenever there are more NEs or tiles than can be displayed, the NEs or tiles appear in a scrollable list. The list is navigated by a scroll control. While there are different scroll controls appears in different areas of the DNE, they always operate in similar ways.
The NE areas scroller is used in the history area, all contribution areas and the tile scroller, to scroll either through NEs or through tiles. To scroll through NEs and tiles:
| • | Click on the on the left side to scroll one NE down the list. |
| • | Rightclick on the to scroll one set of NEs (4 for history, 10 for contributions, 20 for affinity) down the list. |
| • | Click on the up arrow on the right side to scroll one NE up the list. |
| • | Rightclick on the to scroll one set of NEs down the list. |
When you have more than 12 cabinets, or more than 12 NEs in any panel in the cabinet, a scroll control appears on the cabinet post. panels are filled vertically, so the scroll control scrolls up and down through your NEs.
When the bench holds more than one NE or tile, only the top NE or tile is accessible. Which NE or tile this is will be displayed on mouseover. To access other NEs or tiles you must scroll through the benched objects. The NE bench scroller (left) is vertical (because the NEs are stacked one on top of another) whereas the tile bench scroller is horizontal (because the tiles are lined up one next to the other).
The media player uses a unique two-part scroller that makes it easy to pinpoint exact instants even within very large audio and video recordings.
| • | Drag the top half of the scroller to scroll through the full duration of the recording. This scroll control works exactly like the scroller in other media players. |
| • | Drag the bottom half of the scroller to scroll within a single minute. |
Use the top scroller to get as close as you can to the point you want. With short recordings, this may be very close, but with longer recordings it becomes more difficult. Then, use the bottom scroller to find exactly the instant you want.
