The DNE communicates directly with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat. Directly from these applications you can make three different types of DNE tiles:
| • | shortcut tiles that open the file as normal |
| • | subdocument tiles that open the file directly to a particular highlighted section, slide or page, and |
| • | snapshot tiles that take a screen capture of what is on the application window |
If these applications are installed prior to the DNE, the DNE will add speed buttons to these applications. If they are installed after the DNE, you can add speed buttons by running register add-ins.
How to register Add-Ins:
| 1. | Click |
| 2. | DNE Utilities will search for applications to which add-ins may be added. These will be listed with a tick. If there are any applications that you do not want to include a DNE Add-In, then untick it, and |
When looking for applications, Register Add-Ins will stop looking for an application once it has found it. This means that if you are running two different versions of Microsoft® Office, for instance, then Register Add-Ins will only find the most recent version. However, if you run Register Add-Ins a second time, then the second version will be found.
