NE Actions in Maps Room

The active NE in the Maps room has the same rightclick actions as an active NE in any other room. However, an NE in a map or object model has slightly different actions than NEs elsewhere. To complete any NE actions in the maps room:

 

1.Rightclick on any NE in the map or model and
2.Select the appropriate option.

 

►Activate NE - activates the selected NE and redraws the map around the selected NE.
►Place on Bench - place an NE on the bench in order to keep track of it, or to make it available to be activated in another room.
►Edit Text (* not available for repository mode knowledge maps) - allows you to make and edit and update brief, model-specific notes on an NE. Notes on any NE in the model are available to by mousing over that NE.

 

1.Rightclick NE, and
2.Select Edit Text. A text editor will appear.
3.Enter text, and
4.Click OK green.

 

►Do Not Publish/Publish - unpublishes NE (if published) or publishes NE (if unpublished). The  maps room can display either all NEs in a model or only those that are published.
►Unlink this NE from all NEs in model: - delete the relation between the selected NE and all the other NEs in the present mode. The selected NE will be removed from the map or model, and the rest of the map or model will be updated to reflect the change. Note that map NEs have this option in the maps room, whereas in other rooms map NEs can be unlinked from the active NE only.
►Show NE Map - display the cabinet relations for the selected NE, tracing its associations back to the cabinet in which it belongs.
►Trace Forward - highlights the NEs impacted by the selected NE by placing an emerald in the bottom right corner of each impacted NE. This allows you to quickly and accurately assess the impact that any NE has in your model.
 

i_blueYou can also trace forward with a mouseclick. Mouseover any NE and then click and hold on the emerald in the bottom right corner of the NE.

 

►Show NE Names/Show Object Model Information The model can either display the names of each NE on the model, or display the brief textual notes added to each NE in the model. Whichever display you choose, you can access the other by mousing over any NE in the model.
►Show All/Show Published Only - display all the relations in which the NE stands, or display only the published NEs with which the active NE is related. If you show published relations only, then an unpublished NE is considered to break a string of relations: if the active NE (A) contributes to an unpublished NE (B), which contributes to a published NE (C), then neither NE (neither B nor C) will be presented on the active NEs published only model.
