Moving or Copying a Tile

Top  Previous  Next

The NE provides the context in which the information contained in a tile becomes actionable. That is, the NE provides the context in which makes the tile make sense. A piece of information often plays a different role in a variety of contexts, however, and the DNE makes it easy to vary and modify information contexts, by making it easy to take tile from one NE and situate it in a different NE, and easy to gather together tiles from a wide variety of different NEs so that this new collection of information can be seen in a new light.

Tiles can be copied from one NE to another or they can be moved from one NE to another. If it is copied, the same tile can be accessed on the tile scroller of two different NEs, such that copying a tile to a new NE does not delete it from the previous NE. If it is moved, the tile is deleted from the previous NE and added to the new NE.

How to Move or Copy a Tile

To copy a tile:

Tile copying can be done in any room. Simply drag the tile from the tile scroller of the active NE and drop it into the NE that you want. An NE does not need to be active in order to be populated in this way.
Tiles can also be copied using spill lines:
1.Rightdrag the tile from one spill line to another.
2.The DNE will ask you if you want to move or copy the tile. Select Copy.

To move a tile:

Tile moving is done in the tile spiller that can be accessed in any workroom.
1.Spill both the NE you are taking the tile from and the NE you are adding the tile to.
2.Drag the desired tile and drop it where you want it. It will be removed from the previous NE and added to the new NE.

i_blueIf you drop the tile to the left, to the right or between tiles on the target spill line, then the tile will be added to the left, to the right or between those tile. If you drop the tile on top of another tile on the target spill line, then it will be stacked on top of that tile.
