The functionality of themedia player can be controlled on either the media player or, if a second monitor is used to display media, on the media screen.
Along the bottom of the media screen there are several media screen controls that control the media screen.

The allows you to drag the screen to any location inside or outside the DNE
•
The allows you to minimize the screen
•
The maximize screen control is attached to the media player at the bottom left of the DNE. The toggles to a , allowing you to maximize or minimize the screen from the media player.
•
The allows you to resize images and videos to 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, 150%, 200% or 300% of its default size.
•
The tile name and tile icon. If the stack icon is displayed rather than an image or a video icon, then the tile is part of a stack, and the can be used to play each of the stacked tiles in succession.
To move the media screen:
•
Drag the to move the media screen, or
•
Doubleclick the to return the media screen to top right of the DNE.
To resize the media screen:
•
Drag any part of the gold frame to resize horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
To resize the image played on the screen:
1.
Click and hold on the double arrows featured in the control.
2.
Drag double arrows to the right to magnify the image, or
3.
Drag double arrows to the left to shrink the image.
To move an oversized image on the media screen:
•
Rightdrag the image.
If an image is draggable in a direction, then the frame will feature a blue arrow on the relevant side (top/bottom/left/right).
To scroll a stack of tiles:
•
Click the stack icon . The next tile in the stack will play
To increase or decrease the volume for an audio or video tile:
•
Scroll the ball up the volume control to increase volume, scroll the ball downward to decrease volume.
The DNE will remember the volume set for each tile individually, and will play every tile at the appropriate volume.
The media screen also has the ability to do quick edits of audio and video information.
To create a single subdocument clip on the media screen:
1.
Play the source tile.
2.
When the desired clip starts, click the on the left side of the media screen. It will turn into a to indicate that it is recording.

To stop the recording, click the . It will return to a .

Editing on the media screen rather than with the media editor offers more limited functionality (no previewing, for instance) and is designed to facilitate quick capture of single clips. To use the DNE's full media editing functionality, use the media editor.
