How to Import and Export Tiles, NEs and Maps

To export a tile, NE (without its associations or contributions):

1.Rightclick on the tile or NE that you want to export,
2.Mouseover Export and
3.Select Tile or NE.
4.A dialog box will ask you to name the backup file. Name the backup file, and
5.Click OK.
6.The DNE will ask you if you want to include unpublished fields. Click YES or NO.
7.A dialog box will tell you where the backup has been saved. Click OK.

 

To export an NE knowledge map:

1.Activate the NE you want to export (exporting a map is only an option for the active NE).
2.Mouseover Export and
3.Select Map.
4.A dialog box will ask you to name the backup file. Name the backup file, and
5.Click OK.
6.The DNE will ask you if you want to include unpublished fields. Click YES or NO.
7.A dialog box will tell you where the backup has been saved. Click OK.

 

To import a tile:

1.Rightclick on the NE (in the cabinet or in any room) to which you want to import the tile or NE,
2.Select Import Tile ,
3.A dialog box will open. Find the file you want, and
4.Click Open.

 

To import an NE or map:

1.Rightclick a box in any panel in the cabinet to import the NE or map to the cabinet, or rightclick any association area of the active NE in any room to import the NE or map to the respective area of that NE,
2.Select Import NE or Import Map,
3.A dialog box will open. Select the file you want, and
4.Click Open.

 

 

When you import a map that was built in an object model, the DNE will prompt you to either preserve it as an object model or to convert the NE relations to repository relations.

•To preserve the object model, select Preserve the model.
•To clear the association with the model, select Clear Association.
