DNE toolbar in WordAmongst the toolbars in Word, Excel, PowerPoint Visio and Acrobat, there is a DNE toolbar. The example here is the Word toolbar.

The first tool (shows the Word tile icon only) allows you to save a complete document as a tile.
The second tool (shows Word tile icon plus the image tile icon) allows you to save a snapshot of the screen as it presently appears, as a tile.
The third (shows Word tile icon plus the subdocument icon) allows you to bookmark a passage in the document and save the document and bookmark, such that the tile will open the document to the bookmarked passage.

To save a complete document as a tile:

1.Click the first tool on the DNE toolbar, (e.g., 16x16 T007 Word ),
2.The DNE will ask you to: "Press Yes to copy the file(s) as DNE Tile(s) Press No to link the file(s) to DNE Tile(s)".
Select Yes to copy the document as a tile. Any subsequent changes in the file (outside the DNE) will not be reflected in the tile (inside the DNE) and vice versa.
Select No to link the document. The document will remain outside the DNE but will be linked via its tile.

To save a screen snapshot as an image tile:

1.Click the second tool on the DNE toolbar (e.g., 16x16 T009 Word Snapshot ).

To save a bookmark as a subdocument tile:

1.Drag your mouse to highlight the passage in the text that you want to save as a subdocument.
2.Click the third tool on the DNE toolbar (e.g., 16x16 T008 Word Selection ),
3.If the file already exists in the DNE, then the subdocument will be saved. In this case you can skip step 4 and 5.
4.If the file exists outside the DNE, then the DNE must either copy the file or link to the file.
5.The DNE will ask you to: "Press Yes to copy the file(s) as DNE Tile(s) Press No to link the file(s) to DNE Tile(s)".
Select Yes to copy the document as a tile. Any subsequent changes in the file (outside the DNE) will not be reflected in the tile (inside the DNE) and vice versa.
Select No to link the document. The document will remain outside the DNE but will be linked via its tile.

If the DNE is open and there is an NE active in the displayed room, then the tile will be affiliated with the active NE. If the DNE is closed when you create the tile, then the tile will be placed in the "files to be dragged in" folder. The next time you open the DNE you will be reminded that there is a tile to be dragged in.

To drag the tiles from the drag-in folder:

1.Rightclick any NE, active, in the association area or history area of the active NE, or in the cabinet.
2.Select Import Files from Drag-In Folder.
3.All tiles in this folder will be added to the tile scroller of the selected NE.
