Cursors

Most applications do not use cursors to their full advantage. They are used to do things, but they are not used to provide information about what they can do. However, cursors give a unique opportunity to provide context-sensitive information. Dekstrus DNE cursors provide you with a lot of information. DNE cursors alert you to:

Every rightclick menu
Every clickable object
Every draggable object
When you're dragging an object, every legal drop zone (and what the drop zone means)
Every navigation hotspot

Cursors fall into the following groups:

General cursors
Front room tool-specific cursors
Cabinet tool-specific cursors
Dragging cursors in the back view
Navigation cursors
Scrolling cursors

Dragging NEs from the Cabinet

:

From the cabinet, you can see and use three or four rooms at the same time, rather than just one room. This means that the objects in those rooms are smaller and potentially more difficult to use. The cursor set overcomes this by acting as a "magnifying glass" for the drop zones in the back view. Although the drop zones are small, it is easy to find the zone you want because they are all indicated by large, clear cursors.

Drop Zone - Activate NE: backview-NE-droppable-activ
Drop Zone - Add to Affinity Area: backview-NE-droppable-affin
Drop Zone - Add to Contributions By (Left) Wing: backview-NE-droppable-conby
Drop Zone - Add to Contributes To (Right) Wing:backview-NE-droppable-conto
Drop Zone - Spill on Spill Line: backview-NE-droppable-spill

Navigation Cursors:

Navigate Backward to Cabinet: navigate cabinet (bottom of every front room)
Navigate to any Room from Cabinet or Navigation Bar: navigate forward navigation bar
Navigate to any Room and Drag'n'Drop NE into Room from Navigation Bar: cursor-nav-bar-bring-NE
Navigate Left: navigate left (left side of the DNE)
Navigate Right: navigate right (right side of the DNE)

Scrolling Cursors

Scroll cursors feature a green arrow pointing in the direction or directions that you can scroll. Note that on the association areas and on spill lines you can either scroll one item at a time or can scroll to the next set of items.

On the NE:

Click to scroll one NE or tile
Rightclick to scroll to the next set of NEs or tiles

In spill

When the scroll cursor is over the scroll bar arrow left or scroll bar arrow right, then the scroll cursor features a single arrow and clicking it will scroll one tile
When the scroll cursor is over the vertical slashes, then the scroll cursor features a double  arrow and clicking it will scroll to the next set of tiles
