Contributions By Wing

The NE has access not only to the information contained in its tiles, but also to contextual knowledge via its links to other NEs.

Any NE can be linked to any other by dropping one NE in one of three association areas of the other. Which area you select will reflect the nature of the relation. One way in which one NE may be related to a second is if it it gets impacted on by the second. The contributes to wing (the right wing) allows every NE to track all the NEs that it has an impact on. For instance, say you are waiting to begin work on a task and you require reports get submitted by several departments. Each of these reports impacts on your task (if they finish late, you cannot start on time, for example), so each of these reports belongs in the contributions by wing for your task.

The contributions by wing (left) works in tandem with the contributes to (right) wing to manage many-to-many object model-type relations in the DNE.
