Cabinet Relations

The DNE divides information in many different ways. One way is into a tree structure. The DNE tree structure is presented in the cabinet structure.

The tree structure is built with two types of objects, cabinets (represented by a gold bar ) and NEs (represented by a silver bar ). A cabinet is the most general level of division in the tree structure. All other divisions are managed by NEs. All cabinets are always displayed and accessible in the single top cabinet panel.

The tree-structure is displayed and accessed via the twelve main level panels. Because any cabinet or any NE can be opened in any panel, and any combination of NEs can be opened in any combination of panels, the structure allows you to access your tree structure at twelve different points at the same time.

NEs that are stored in the cabinet are always accessible from the cabinet. However, for most purposes, an NE must be activated in any of the different rooms. Any of the NEs can be activated by dragging it into any room from the cabinet.
