The bench clock sits in the middle of the bench in every room and controls many of the bench functions. It allows you to open the DNE explorer, to save DNE and room configurations as well as to save configurations for the objects in the various rooms. It also allows you to control which NEs and tiles are displayed and accessible from the bench.
The tile indicator on the left of the bench clock tells you how many tiles are currently on the bench in any particular room while the NE indicator on its right tells you how many NEs are currently on the bench in that room. The numbers indicate, in the example here, that there are two tiles and fifteen NEs. The green arrow indicates that the tiles are currently hidden but can be displayed. The red dash indicates that the NEs are currently displayed, but can be hidden. Both the arrow and the dash can appear on both the NE indicator and the tile indicator, as needed. If there are more tiles or NEs on the bench than can be displayed, a bench scroller will appear.
The geometrical shapes inside the clock indicate that the room is currently in an object model. Whenever the room is in an object model, the first four icons in the model (or fewer, if the model has fewer than four object types) appear here, to indicate which model the room is in.
The room indicator just beneath the bench clock tells you which room bench is displayed, and allows you to display the bench from any room in the DNE, so that you can access, for instance, the bench from the Maps room even when you are in a workroom. By default, the bench clock indicates the room you are presently in, but the bench in any other room is only a mouseclick away.
The in the top left of the bench clock accesses the DNE explorer.
The at the very top of the bench clock accesses the notepad and allows you to make or view notes
The controls along the right side of the bench clock are used to save room, bench and DNE configurations.
•
The top one will save the entire room as it currently appears.
•
The lower one will save only the current configuration of the bench.
•
The smaller button on the lower right hand side of the bench clock will save the current configuration of the full DNE.
