Active NE

The NE manages knowledge by organizing information relations in the association area, keeping field notes in the fields area, tracking the day's work in the history area and collecting your information on the tile scroller. The NE manages knowledge by organizing information contextually. However, the context for any NE is only accessible when the NE is active. The active NE is the one whose name is displayed in central position, as is displayed here.

When an NE is active, the NE can display all or any combination of association, fields, history and tiles. This means that you see all the relations in which it stands to other NEs, you can view not only all its fields, but all the fields of every NE and every tile relevant in the context it manages, and you have access to every tile that contains important information.

Only one NE can be activated in any room at one time, but you can have different NEs active in different rooms in the DNE. In most rooms the active NE stands in the top left corner of the room. The exception is the Maps room in which the activation area is in the middle of the room.
