 The activation area is the area of the room in which an NE may be opened and rendered active. The activation area resides in the top left corner of each room except for the Maps room, where it resides in the top middle of the room. The location of the activation area is easily recognized by a dark NE icon attached to the DNE ceiling and the reflection of an open NE on the window. This reflection can be seen in every room, and from the cabinet you can see an NE reflection in each of the visible rooms (if there isn't an NE already active in that room). An NE is activated by dropping it on the dark NE icon. Once activated all the information in and around the NE is accessible.
