How to add a preview from an image file:
| 1. | Rightclick on the object to which you want to add a preview, |
| 2. | Mouseover Change Preview Image, and |
| 3. | Select Select a Preview Image. |
| 4. | A dialog box will let you navigate your tree structure. Find the image you want to use and click Open. |
Adding a preview from a file in this method will always use the full image as the preview. If you would like to use a detail from the image as your preview, then this is done by using the method below - open the image, put a screen capture of the image onto your clipboard and then select the detail you want from the clipboard image.
How to add a preview using the clipboard:
| 1. | Place the image you want to use on your clipboard (* see below for some methods) |
| 2. | In the DNE Desktop, rightclick the object to which you want to add the preview, |
| 3. | Mouseover Change Preview Image, and |
| 4. | Click the image preview. |
| 5. | The screen capture will appear in a dialog box. |
| • | If you want to use the whole screen shot, then click  |
| • | If you want to use only a detail from the screen shot, then |
| 1. | Drag your mouse diagonally across the detail you want to create a bounding box around the detail. |
| 2. | Click . |
There are many ways to put an image on your clipboard, any of which will work for creating previews. Note that while you will be putting the entire image on your clipboard, you can take any detail from the image as your preview, once it is on the clipboard.
